Who we are ...

To give a little info about the human element of this trip.

You can take the person out of Africa,
but you can't take Africa out of the person.

Heidi Lloyd:

A teacher who longs to make a difference in the continent she was born in.

I've learned so much about beautiful Africa, but haven't been able to experience and explore much of it yet. I hope to learn from and be changed by the people and cultures we experience. I also hope to be able to make some sort of difference to the people and children we meet. I yearn to be back in the African bush living life the way we should, rather than being in the London rush. I look forward to what God has in store for us in our trip.

Ross Lloyd:

An IT consultant with a passion for African wildlife, conservation and the outdoors. I've been lucky enough to have seen a lot of the world in my travels, but not much of Africa. This is my chance to correct that sad fact.

I'm an outdoorsy, sporty person, with an indoorsy career, spending many hours dreaming of wild adventures in Africa, while desperately trying to learn as much as I can about the mechanics of a Land Rover... let alone how to create a website.

Driving back home to the sunnier lands of Southern Africa, has been a dream we have shared even before we met, canoeing on the Thames in Richmond. Although we currently live in Twickenham, we were both born and grew up in South Africa.

Like most couples we have all sorts of hopes and dreams for our future together. Buying our landy [Duzi2] was the start of this particular one. Preparing for an overland expedition like this is a huge expense and very steep learning curve, but the last few pieces of the jigsaw puzzle are slowly fitting into place.
